Fun at the finale!

Everyone had a great time at the Teen Summer Reading Finale...the final numbers are, 17 kids read their three books and got prizes from McDonalds and Beach Treasures coffe. 40 local teens signed up and read over 75 books. The people that attended the finale got great prizes in the drawings from local businesses, and Evan Whipple walked away with the Harry Potter set. We played water balloon dodgeball and the competition was fierce! Here are some photos for your enjoyment:

TSRP FINALE!

Friday, August 25th at 3 pm is the Finale of the TSRP (Teen Summer Reading Program). We will hand out awards and prizes to those who read their three books. If you haven't turned in your reading forms yet, you have until 5 pm on Thursday the 24th to turn them in. Everyone will have fun playing Water Balloon Dodgeball! See you there.

Make a Monster Winners

The winners of the "Make a Monster" contest were Zach Brady, Navarre Kerr, and Skyler Whipple. The prizes included a coupon for a free 6 inch sub courtesy of Subway, a coupon for a game of bowling from Shores Bowl and candy. The winners made a very scary monster using most of the materials available. The judges were Dave Weiser, City Manager; Gene Swygard, Friends of the Library Treasurer; and Betty Smith of the Library Board of Trustees. We thank the judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the contest. We also thank the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library and the Teen Advisory Board who sponsor the Teen Summer Reading Program. Next TSRP Program is MONSTROUS!

Friday, July 28th at 2pm come to the library and Make a Monster. You can work alone or in teams of up to three. You will have basic supplies like cardboard and duct tape to work with. The monsters will be judged and prizes will be given to the winning monster creator(s). There will be snacks to eat and a scary movie to watch...come and have a great time!

TEEN SUMMER READING PROGRAM!

The 2nd annual Teen Summer Reading Program has begun at the Ocean Shores Library. The theme this summer is "Creature Feature" Sign up at the Library now and you'll get a schedule, a reading list, a temporary tattoo, and a coupon for free skating at the Harborena. When you read three books, turn in three review forms, you win a rubber bracelet or dog tags (your choice). You'll also get your name in the drawing for the BIG prizes at the August 25th finale. Babysitting Class a Success!

16 local teens attended the Babysitting Class at the Ocean Shores Library on Friday, June 22nd. They learned what to do in an emergency. Here on the left you see the Heimlich maneuver being learned.
